Pefkohori – located at the south east end of Halkidiki

Pefkohori is a resort that appeals to families and couples looking for a relaxing beach resort mixed in with a traditional village. The transfer time from Thessalonica airport can be anything up to 2 and a half hours. This gives you more than enough time to look around at surrounding scenery that Halkidiki has to offer as well as gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach in Pefkohori is long and narrow with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. It is covered in pale sand, leading down to the waters edge. The beach is easily accessible and most hotels are located very near it. Accommodation in Pefkohori is good, with a number of self-catering apartments and villas and a number of hotels offering room only, half-board and all-inclusive. All accommodation ranges from 2-4-stars although you may find the odd 5-star available.

Pefkohori – plenty of beach and water-based activities to enjoy

There are plenty of beach based activities in Pefkohori for you to enjoy. A number of water sports are available such as snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing and paragliding. If the water sports are not available then there are calm waters which are perfect for swimming in. There is also a lot of surrounding countryside in the resort which is a great setting for long walks. There are also a number of local excursions for you to enjoy, such as exploring the nearby fishing villages, going on a sunset party cruise and other boat trips to nearby resorts and islands, exploring the monasteries of Athos, shopping and sightseeing in Thessaloniki, visiting the caves of Petralona or going on tours of neighbouring resorts.

Pefkohori – a number of Greek options to enjoy

Pefkohori has a reasonable choice of restaurants to choose from, with a number of traditional Greek cuisines. Seafood is also very popular. If this is not for you then you will find a few more international options and more familiar foods such as burgers and chips. Nightlife in the resort is good with a number of late night bars and pubs as well as a number of karaoke bars. Many places have live music to keep you entertained. Shopping in Pefkohori is fairly basic with a number of souvenir shops, craft shops, and clothing stores. There are six daily buses to various resorts such as Thessaloniki and a number of taxis available when you want them.

Pefkohori – a typically Mediterranean climate

Pefkohori has brilliant weather with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Summers in Pefkohori are long and hot with winters being cool and wet. The average annual temperature is around 17.5°C however temperatures have been known to rise to 27°C and above. In April, the average temperature is around 15°C but rises to 20°C in May. April and May have around 8 hours of sunshine a day, with this rising to 12 in July and August. October and September still see temperatures of around 17-23°C and 6-8-hours of sunshine a day. November to February, temperatures drop and you will see more rainfall.
