Moraitika – located on the east coast of Corfu

Moraitika generally suits couples and families who are young and energetic or just want to relax. The resort is not as lively as Kavos but there is still plenty to do. The transfer time for the resort is around 45 minutes meaning you have plenty of time to look around at the surrounding scenery in Corfu as well as gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach in Moraitika is relatively long and narrow but covered in golden sands that lead down to the waters edge. Parasols and sunbeds are available to hire and water sports and pedalloes are available. There are a number of apartments and hotels in Moraitika that range from 2-4-stars. The apartments offer you a self-catering board basis whereas the hotels offer half-board and all-inclusive.

Moraitika – most of the activities centre around the beach

Moraitika is home to some brilliant water sports such as windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet-skiing and water-skiing. There is a brilliant diving centre located in the resort that enables you hire out all of the diving equipment. You will also find that the diving centre organises a number of diving trips and courses if you are a beginner and feel you need tuition. If you would prefer to stay out of the water then why not try go-karting which has proven highly popular in the past. There are a number of boat trips available in Moraitika to other islands, resorts and beaches. If you would prefer something else, then why not try heading to Corfu Town for some extensive shopping and sightseeing.

Moraitika – wide choice of pubs and restaurants to choose from

Moraitika has a number of restaurants and taverns for you to choose from. Most of them offer traditional Greek cuisine and seafood, however you will also find British cuisines, meaning full English breakfasts, Italian and Chinese cuisines. There is a varied selection when it comes to nightlife with pubs, bars and a nightclub. Many of the pubs and bars offer Greek nights, quiz nights, karaoke nights, disco nights and cocktail evenings. Shopping is limited in the resort with supermarkets, mini markets, beach supplies, clothing, jewellery and souvenirs. Currency exchange is available in shops and a cash point is available, however there is no bank. There is a regular coastal bus service in the resort taking you to other resorts such as Messonghi, Kavos and Corfu Town. Car and bike hire are also available from the resort.

Moraitika - constant sunshine on the island

There are around 300 days of sunshine in the resort of Moraitika. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Moraitika are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night.
