Ipsos – located on the north east coast of Corfu

Ipsos is very popular, especially among British tourists. Younger couples and groups will enjoy the resort more as there is a lot of action both near and at the beach. The transfer time is only roughly 30 minutes giving you plenty of time in the resort itself, and just enough time to look around at some of the surrounding scenery. The beach at Ipsos is long and narrow, covered in golden sands that lead down to the waters edge. There are a number of water sports available which many people enjoy. You will find a range of accommodations in Ipsos from camp-sites to self-catering apartments to hotels. Most of the accommodation is 2-3-stars, although there are also a few 4-stars. The hotels tend to offer a half-board basis although some may offer all-inclusive.

Ipsos – plenty of beach based activities for you to choose from

Ipsos has brilliant water sports available to people such as windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, paragliding, parasailing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, sailing and even taking pedalloes out. There are many other water-based activities such as rides and water slides for people of all ages to enjoy. There are also a number of local excursions for you to choose from including boat trips to other islands such as Paxos, Antipaxos and Kassiopi. The most popular excursion is likely to be the shopping and sightseeing trip to Corfu Town. There are a number of shops and so many places to see that you are likely to spend a full day there.

Ipsos – a range of places to choose from

Ipsos has a number of places to eat for you to choose from. There are many local, traditional taverns offering Greek cuisine, however there are other options if you want something more familiar. There are many fast-food restaurants and a number of pubs offering food. As well as this, you are likely to find both Chinese and Italian restaurants and the odd place offering British cuisine. The nightlife is fairly lively at times with a number of video bars, cocktail bars, discos and British style pubs. There are a few shops in Ipsos offering souvenirs, food, drinks and beach supplies. For a better shopping experience, head to Corfu Town. Public transport in the resort is fairly good with an hourly bus taking you into Corfu town and occasionally on to Kassiopi. Water taxis are also available to take you to other beaches in other resorts.

Ipsos - constant sunshine on the island

There are around 300 days of sunshine in the resorts of Ipsos. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Ipsos are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night. It can be cooler in this resort as the north is generally cooler than the south.
