Hanioti – located on the south-east coast of Halkidiki

Hanioti is a resort that appeals to both families and couples looking for a relaxing beach holiday with an attractive and varied nightlife. The transfer time to the resort from the airport can be anything from 1 hour to 2 and a half hours. This gives you more than enough time to look around at the surrounding scenery in Halkidiki as well as gain an understanding of the location of the resorts and the location of your accommodation within the resort. Hanioti beach is very popular, especially since it received the EU Blue Flag for its cleanliness. The beach is covered in white sands leading down to the waters edge. Water sports are available as are sunbeds and parasols. The accommodation in Hanioti is good with both self-catering apartments and a number of hotels offering room only, half-board and all-inclusive. All accommodation mainly ranges from 2-4-stars.

Hanioti – plenty of beach based activities to enjoy

Hanioti has some brilliant beaches with plenty of activities available on them. Many people choose to enjoy beach volleyball while others prefer the water sports. The water sports on offer include windsurfing, surfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, para-gliding and even hiring out pedalloes. There is some brilliant countryside in Hanioti for you to enjoy. It is a brilliant setting for relaxing walks or even for going horse-riding. Excursions that you can go on include trips to the mountains, the monasteries of Athos, that Petralona Caves or boat trips to Mount Athos, other resorts and neighbouring islands.

Hanioti – plenty of cuisines to choose from

Afitos is home to a number of restaurants with a number of cuisines available. The favourite is obviously traditional Greek cuisine, although there is also a lot of seafood available. There are also a few other cuisines available such as Italian, Chinese and British. The village square in the resort has some lively bars for you to enjoy offering karaoke and cocktails, however if you wanted a quieter evening then there are some less lively bars around the resort. Most of the hotels also put on evening entertainment programmes. Shopping in the resort is quite good with souvenirs, crafts and a number of fashion boutiques available. Public transport in the resort is good with buses and taxis taking you to other resorts and around the resort. Car and bike hire are also available.

Hanioti – a typically Mediterranean climate

Hanioti has brilliant weather with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Summers in Hanioti are long and hot with winters being cool and wet. The average annual temperature is around 17.5°C however temperatures have been known to rise to 27°C and above. In April, the average temperature is around 15°C but rises to 20°C in May. April and May have around 8 hours of sunshine a day, with this rising to 12 in July and August. October and September still see temperatures of around 17-23°C and 6-8-hours of sunshine a day. November to February, temperatures drop and you will see more rainfall. As Hanioti is located in the north of Greece, you will find that it is cooler than those in the south with temperatures dropping between 0 and 5°C.
