Glastros – located on the west coast of Mykonos

Glastros is a resort that is perfect for people wanting a quiet base to stay in. the resort is peaceful and relaxing, however it is located very closely to the lively Mykonos Town so you can have a lively evening and then go back to the quietness of your own resort. The transfer time for this resort is only 10 minutes meaning you have plenty of time in the resort itself. The beaches in the resort are easily accessible and all perfect for spending a lazy day on. You will find sunbeds and parasols available on the beach and there are a few boats trips leaving from some of the beaches. You will find hotels and apartments in Glastros, mainly 2-4-stars, offering self-catering, half-board and all-inclusive. All accommodation has all of the facilities that you would expect them to have.

Glastros – plenty of beach and water based activities to try

Glastros is home to some brilliant water sports on its beaches such as, windsurfing, surfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving, boat rides, swimming or going on pedalloes. All of the attractions in Mykonos Town can be enjoyed from the resort of Glastros. You can go and look at the whitewashed houses, the old churches and monasteries, go shopping, sample the nightlife or simply walk down the picturesque lanes taking in your surroundings. There are boat trips on offer to other resorts on the island or to other islands all together. Glastros is very quiet so is a perfect resort for sightseeing and spending the day relaxing by the pool or down at the beach.

Glastros – good choice of restaurants for you

Glastros has a few restaurants mainly offering traditional Greek cuisine as well as seafood. There are a couple of international options, however for a wider choice head to nearby Mykonos Town. Here you will find Greek, Chinese, Italian and British cuisines to enjoy. Nightlife in Glastros is very quite with a few bars offering music. If you are looking for something more lively then why not try Mykonos Town with bars, discos and nightclubs open through the night. Shopping is basic with a few souvenir shops. Again, Mykonos Town has a lot more on offer to you. There is a bus from the resort into Mykonos Town and from here you can access other resorts via taxis, buses or hiring cars or bikes.

Glastros – long hot Mediterranean summers

Glastros enjoys a Mediterranean climate of very long and hot summers. July and August are the hottest months in the resort with an average temperature of 25°C although this commonly rises to highs of well over 30°C. May is the official start to the summer with temperatures at 21°C which quickly rises to 25°C by June. There is normally no rainfall over July and August and the evenings remain hot at highs of 22°C. July and August see 12 hours of sunshine a day which drops to around 5 hours a day in the winter. Spring and Autumn are pleasant times to come if you are not keen on very hot weather, with temperatures mostly ranging between 16-20°C. Winters tend to be mild in Glastros with temperatures staying at around 10°C. Between October and May you can expect to see some rainfall but not to the extent that we are used to. December if the wettest month in Glastros however it still tends to remain fairly warm.
