Dassia – located on the east coast of Corfu

Dassia is a resort that suits people all of all ages. Young groups of couples and singles generally find the resort more appealing than others. The transfer time for this resort is around 25 minutes meaning you get plenty of time in your resort and just enough time to take a look at the surrounding scenery. The beach in Dassia is attractive and long with sand leading down to the waters edge. The beach is well equipped with everything that you would need such as sunbeds and parasols and water sports are available. There is a range of accommodation in Dassia including camp-sites, studios, apartments and hotels. The apartments, studios and camp-sites are obviously self-catering whereas the hotels offer half-board and all-inclusive. They are also mainly large hotels that are around 2-5-stars.

Dassia – plenty of beach based activities to enjoy

Dassia is home to a number of beach activities, especially in the summer months. The water sports at the beach are very popular and include paragliding, scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, riding banana boats and riding pedalloes. Boat hire is also quite popular. There are also a number of excursions for you to go on such as trips to a Greek village, boat trips to Paxos and mainland Greece and mountain biking trips. Many people also take a trip to Corfu Town for shopping and sightseeing. A very popular activity is to hire a boat and visit the coves near Dassia.

Dassia – plenty of restaurants to choose from

There are a number of taverns and restaurants for you to choose from offering a lot of traditional Greek cuisine. There are also a lot of snack bars. Popular places to eat include the pizzerias which many people enjoy as it is something familiar. There are also a number of inexpensive beach bars to enjoy both day and night. The resort is quite lively and at night you will find many bars as well as discos and clubs. Greek dancing is very popular and you will find this in many pubs. There are a number of beach shops, supermarkets, jewellery shops, leather shops and souvenir shops. If this is not enough for you, then head to Corfu Town for some real shopping. Public transport in the resort is good, with a regular bus service taking you to other resort such as Corfu Town.

Dassia - constant sunshine on the island

There are around 300 days of sunshine in the resorts of Dassia. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Dassia are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night.
