Aghia Efimia – located near the east coast of Kefalonia

Aghia Efimia is very popular among singles, couples and more mature visitors. There is not much on offer for families or anyone looking for a very lively nightlife, however it is still a popular resort. The transfer time for this resort can be anything from 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes depending on how you are getting there and where in the resort you are staying. This gives you plenty of time to look around at surrounding scenery as well as gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach in Aghia Efimia is small however still covered in sand that leads down to the waters edge and it is easily accessible. Most of the accommodation in Aghia Efimia consists of self-catering apartments, however there are also a few small hotels available to you.

Aghia Efimia – many beach and water based activities to enjoy

Aghia Efimia is home to a number of water sports located down at the beach. The water sports available to you include, snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, surfing, sailing or taking a boat trip. Exploring the island is also a popular choice among many people as it is a good way to see all of the various sites. There are also a number of local excursions for you to enjoy such as a tour taking you to Drogarati Cave and Melissani lake grotto, a marine wildlife tour, a boat trip to Ithaca, a boat and coach trip to the museum of Olympia, or sailing and swimming. Sailing to other nearby islands and resorts is also popular as it gives you the chance to experience different sites.

Aghia Efimia – plenty of traditional Greek taverns to enjoy

Aghia Efimia is home to a number of restaurants, most of which offer traditional Greek cuisine and seafood. A few of the restaurants also offer some more international options such as Chinese and Italian. Nightlife in the resort is quiet with a few choices of cafés, bars and pubs to choose from. Some of the venues have music but none are open all night long. An isolated disco can also be found in the summer. Shopping in the resort is basic with a few souvenir stores, a couple of supermarkets and a few bakeries. Public transport in the resort is okay. There is a bus service taking you around the resorts as well as a ferry service to nearby Ithaca.

Aghia Efimia – a typically Mediterranean climate

Aghia Efimia has brilliant weather with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Summers in Aghia Efimia are long and hot with winters being cool and wet. The average annual temperature is around 17.5°C however temperatures have been known to rise to 27°C and above. In April, the average temperature is around 15°C but rises to 20°C in May. April and May have around 8 hours of sunshine a day, with this rising to 12 in July and August. October and September still see temperatures of around 17-23°C and 6-8-hours of sunshine a day. November to February, temperatures drop and you will see more rainfall.
