Egypt holidays have become increasingly popular in recent years and with 5000 years worth of history to explore, its hardly surprising. Apart from the Pyramids, River Nile and the various temples that you can explore, there are perfect spots for pure relaxation. The beaches in Egypt and picturesque, with soft golden sands leading down to the clear waters. The beaches normally have plenty of sunbeds and parasols for you to hire for the day but these can go very quickly. Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada have become extremely popular recently for the beaches, sights and hotels. There are many large hotels in Egypt that offer you luxury stays and an all-inclusive among others.
Egypt – a range of cuisines available
In Egypt, you will find hundreds of restaurants and bars available to you. In the restaurants, you will find a variety of cuisines, many being international. Many of the hotels have restaurants and you will also find many outside your hotel. American style snack bars are available as well as a few fast food outlets. There is plenty of nightlife to enjoy, including nightclubs, discos, casinos and hotel entertainment. Most of the nightlife is found in Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan. Barbecues are also given along the Nile during the summer months. Shopping is good in Egypt, with perfumes, jeweller, clothing, bags, shoes, antiques and souvenirs all available for you to buy.
Egypt – plenty of things to see and do
The beaches in Egypt are very attractive and the clear waters make them even more appealing. One activity that you can enjoy while at the beach is scuba diving. This will give you the perfect chance to see over 1000 different species of marine life and the huge coral pillar at Tower Beach. There are a wide range of water sports available including taking a trip on a glass-bottom boat, sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling or taking a pedalo out. Hiring a jeep, a motorbike or riding a camel are just three of the ways in which you can be transported around on a safari. Horse-riding in Egypt is something for couples to enjoy, with a romantic ride through the desert. Camel rides can also be taken with a stop for dinner on the way. Sightseeing is something that everyone can do in Egypt, with many people take visits to the Pyramids and the Sun Temples.
Egypt – hot summers, mild winters
Egypt sees some of the hottest summers, with temperatures reaching 43°C during the day. The average temperatures for the summer months are around 30°C, however it is not unusual for temperatures to go above this. The average temperature for winter is around 14°C, however again, it is likely for temperatures to reach around 23°C. The summer months are May until August and in this time, you will see up to 12 hours of sunshine a day. During the winter months, you will still see around 7-8 hours of sunshine a day. Rainfall in Egypt is low meaning you are more likely to see sun when you holiday here. The beaches are perfect in the summer months as the cooling sea breeze helps keep the humidity levels down.
