The famous Water World in Ayia Napa is hugely popular with friends and families and has plenty of slides and pools for you to enjoy throughout the day. Other parks include Water Mania, Wet n' Wild and the Paphos water park. There are plenty of water sports available for you to try, such as parasailing, paragliding, water-skiing, jet-skiing, scuba diving and snorkelling. If you enjoy nature, then there are plenty of walking trails for you to try in the Troodos Mountains. There are also a lot of sights to see, such as many churches and monasteries, castles and small villages.
When it comes to food, you will find something for everyone. You will find a lot of international cuisine at many hotels and in many restaurants, as well as a lot of Cypriot cuisine. There are no licensing hours in Cyprus so many places stay open through the night. Limassol is like a year-round party, with Paphos and Ayia Napa having seasonal nightlife. The nightlife in these resorts is extremely lively, with many bars and clubs staying open until dawn. There are many bars, discos and nightclubs on offer and a number of hotels put on evening entertainment. When it comes to shopping, you will find clothing, bags, shoes, jewellery, crafts and souvenirs. Taxis are available and some buses will take you to attractions, but you could also try hiring a car.
Cyprus is a destination that you can visit at any time of the year, with hot summers and mild winters. If you visit in the summer it is highly advisable that you have air conditioning in your room as temperatures at both day and night can be uncomfortable. There are over 300 days of sunshine, with August being the hottest month, reaching temperatures well over 30°C. January is the coolest month, however temperatures still manage to reach around 17°C. If you stay by a beach then you have the luxury of the cooling sea breeze that keeps the levels of humidity down to make you feel more comfortable. From June to August, you will see around 12 hours of sunshine a day and in the winter, you will still see over 4 hours. Between December and February the rain falls at times, however the average rainfall is only for 40 days out of the year and when it does rain, it dries up very quickly.
