The Netherlands has a lot to offer visitors. The landscape is made up of hills, tulips and windmills, making it a picturesque place to look at. The Netherlands is a very tolerant country and suits everyone, whether they want to relax in the countryside or party in the cities. There is a lot of history and culture in the Netherlands and you can learn a lot about the way people used to live. Many couples go to the Netherlands, as do singles as there is something there to cater to everyone. There are a wide range of hotels in the Netherlands, many offering you luxury accommodation. Netherlands – something for everyone
Dutch food is very popular in the Netherlands, as is Indonesian cuisine, however so that everyone is catered for, a lot of international cuisine is also available. All hotels and restaurants, will include a 15% service charge, however it is customary to leave a small tip when you are paying a bill. The nightlife in the Netherlands is good as everyone is very open-minded. The larger cities have a lot of nightclubs and discos, as well as bars and cafés that stay open until late. There are also a number of theatres and cinemas in the major towns. A dinner cruise along the canal is also a favourite with couples. Shopping is popular, with a lot of glass and crystal and other crafts available to you.
Netherlands – plenty to see and do
Bike riding is popular in the countryside, with over 10000 miles of designated cycle routes on flat ground. A glass-topped boat tour is also popular around the Amsterdam waterways and harbour and is a brilliant way of taking in the sights. The Museum Boat is also good as you get to see the sights and see the history of the Netherlands. For those who enjoy nature, Hoge Veluwe is a popular national park, with a lot of wildlife and an underground museum. Football lovers can enjoy a football match in the stadium in Amsterdam, while people who would rather enjoy the sights can go and look at one of the many museums available.
Netherlands – a mild climate
The coastal areas of the Netherlands have the mildest climate and the lowest rainfall. July and August are the warmest temperatures, reaching around 20°C. January is the coldest month, with temperatures only around 4°C. Rainfall occurs throughout the year, however there are fewer rainy days in the summer months. It can get quite windy in the autumn and winter months as well so it is best to take some warmer clothes. May to September is the best time to visit the Netherlands if you want warmer, drier weather.
