Holidays in Hungary will inspire you with a number of sights for you to explore and a lot of history to show. It is home to one of the most beautiful cities, known as Budapest and has a lot to offer you as a tourist. History lovers and couples are likely to visit Hungary as they are well catered for. Budapest is also home to some of the best beaches in Hungary, with golden sands leading down to the waters edge and plenty sunbeds and parasols available to hire. There are a number of hotels in Hungary, graded from 1 to 5-stars and offering a range of board basis.

Hungary – something for everyone

There are a good range of restaurants available in Hungary that range in price and cuisine. Some places are self-service, while others for fine dining experiences. There are also plenty of coffee shops that are very popular with locals. A tip of 10-15% is expected in restaurants, bars and taxis. Budapest is home to most of the countries nightlife, with clubs, bars, discos and casinos all available to you. Shopping is also available where you are likely to find many traditional crafts and a lot of Hungarian wines and souvenirs.

Hungary – plenty to see and do

Hungary is brilliant for sightseeing, however there other activities that you can try as well. Hiking through the Hungarian Mountains is a favourite with many as you get the chance to see some brilliant views as well as different areas of nature. Horse riding is another great way to see the sights and you have the choice of taking lessons or going on excursions with one of the many riding schools. For wine lovers, wine tasting is available at one of the many vineyards across the country. There are a number of thermal springs in Budapest that offer a variety of relaxation methods and warm baths for you enjoyment.

Hungary – warm summers, cold winters

Hungarian summers are good, with the hottest month being July, and temperatures reaching around 28°C. May to September will give you the best weather and warm temperatures, making them the perfect months for lazing around on a beach or by the pool. January is the coldest month, with temperatures reaching as low as -4°C. Spring and early summer are the wettest seasons, with the most rainfall occurring at this time. Winter is cold, however tends to be a lot drier.
