Puerto del Carmen - Located on the South-Eastern coast of Lanzarote

Puerto del Carmen is popular with young groups and couples who want a livelier holiday. Families enjoy the resort as well, but it is more appealing to young groups as it has a hectic nightlife. The transfer time is around 10 minutes but this can take slightly longer depending on how may drop-offs you have. The beach in Puerto del Carmen is long and filled with fine golden sands and clear waters. The beach itself is very clean as it the water, which is why it has been awarded the European Blue Flag. There are a lot of apartments in the resort as well as a few hotels. The apartments are self catering and range between 2-3-stars where as the hotels offer 2-5-stars and have many different board basis.

Puerto del Carmen – plenty to do both day and night

Puerto del Carmen has a wide range of activities for people to take part in both day and night. During the day, there are many water sports on offer with the favourite being windsurfing. You can also try snorkelling, scuba diving, jet-skiing and riding a banana boat. Deep-sea fishing is available and for those wanting to try scuba diving, there is tuition available as well as facilities to hire all of the equipment. Horse-riding is also available, as well as tennis, squash and mountain biking. Taking a trip to Timanfaya is highly recommended as it has some stunning scenery and there it the chance to ride on a camel over the volcanic landscape.

Puerto del Carmen – hundreds of restaurants to choose from

Puerto del Carmen offers plenty of places to eat and drink. You are spoilt for choice with the amount of different cuisines that are on offer including Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, German, Canarian and British. You will also find a lot of seafood restaurants and a lot of fast food restaurants. There are many bars open until the early hours of the morning offering live music, entertainment shows, karaoke, cocktails and dance floors. There are also a few discos open until late. There is also a casino, however none of the bas go over the top and are not as lively as some of the other islands. There are plenty of places to shop in Puerto del Carmen such as supermarkets, souvenir shops, perfume stores, clothing stores, cosmetic stores and jewellery stores. Public transport is fairly good in Puerto del Carmen with buses taking you into Arrecife regularly. You can then take a bus from there to other resorts. Taxis are available as well and tend to be cheaper and more reliable.

Puerto del Carmen – beautiful sunshine for a lively resort

Puerto del Carmen is located in the south east, meaning it sees the best of the weather. It is very dry and hot in Puerto del Carmen with very little rainfall. The summer temperatures are around 28°C in June, July and August, with January and February still reaching over 20°C. There is rarely more than 16 days of rain and when it does rain, it is cleared up very quickly. The rain normally falls between December and February but you still tend to get around 7 hours of sunshine a day.
