Puerto de Santiago - A quiet and relaxing resort

Located on the south west coast of Tenerife between Los Gigantes and Playa de la Arena is the quiet resort of Puerto de Santiago. Puerto Santiago is appealing to mature couples and families and offers amazing views out across the Atlantic Ocean. The area is very natural with black, volcanic sand and trees throughout the resort. The resort is very peaceful and perfect for people wanting a truly relaxing holiday.

Puerto de Santiago – ideal for families

Puerto de Santiago offers many activities for people to try. On land, you have tennis, volleyball, squash, bowls and French bowls. There is the opportunity to try golf, however this is 30 minutes away in another resort. Water sports are also hugely popular with scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and jet-skiing. You can hire all diving equipment and take diving lessons when in the resort. All water sports are made available to you at the beach. If you want to go and visit attractions, then the most popular one are LoroParque, Aqua park and Mount Teide. These are all popular amongst tourists and appeal to both children and adults. Coach trips take you to all attractions or a taxi will take you.

Puerto de Santiago – full of shops, bars and restaurants

One thing for sure is that you will not go hungry when in Puerto de Santiago. There are many restaurants serving all cuisines such as Thai, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Mexican and English. The shops are full of clothes and souvenirs and there are supermarkets for you to get your food and drink for your accommodation should you need it. The nightlife is quiet so if you were looking for something louder then a trip to the resort of Playa de las Americas may be an idea.

Puerto de Santiago – good weather throughout the year

The majority of the weather in Puerto de Santiago is good all year round as it is located near the south. The temperatures rarely drop below 30C in the summer and the winter temperatures rarely drop below 15C. There is little rain in the resort, even in the winter which is why it is a good destination to visit all year round. The water temperatures rarely drop below 17C even in winter making the water perfect for water sports. The beach is rarely busy in winter making it even more relaxing for tourists.
