Playa Taurito - Located on the South-Western coast of Gran Canaria

Playa Taurito is the perfect destination for families and couples as it is peaceful and relaxing. The resort is very close to the lively resort of Puerto Rico so you have the choice of quiet nights in Playa Taurito, or a late and lively night in Puerto Rico. The transfer time is around one and a half hours so you can get your bearings for the location of your resort and take in the picturesque scenery of Gran Canaria. The beach is very attractive with fine, white sands and calm, blue waters. It is very popular among families and children because it is so clean and safe. The hotels in Playa Taurito are built into the cliff sides and are very attractive, mainly range from 3-5-stars. You will also find many offering an all-inclusive board basis.

Playa Taurito – take a trip to Puerto Rico

Although Playa Taurito may not offer much to tourists, Puerto Rico does and it is located next to Playa Taurito. You can try all water sports, with the focus being on windsurfing. If this is not for you then you could try sailing, scuba diving, snorkelling or jet-skiing. The resort is perfect for sitting around on the beach relaxing and you can always take trips to other resorts such as Maspalomas to see the incredible sand dunes on the beach and take a camel ride. If you do decide to travel to Puerto Rico, then try out the Aqua park which is full of rides, slides and swimming pools.

Playa Taurito – plenty of places to eat

Playa Taurito does have a good choice of restaurants offering many cuisines such as Italian, Canarian and English. If you want a wider choice than Puerto Rico is the place to go. There are a few bars but they are not lively. The atmosphere is good, but the bars are calm, as is the rest of the resort. There are a few shops with souvenirs and clothing and you will also find a few supermarkets in the area. Public transport is reliable and cheap, with many coaches and buses taking you into other resorts throughout the day.

Playa Taurito – perfect weather for relaxing on the beach

Playa Taurito is located in the south west, meaning it sees some of the best of the weather. It is very dry and hot in Playa Taurito with very little rainfall. The summer temperatures are around 28°C in August and September, with January and February still reaching over 22°C. There is rarely any rain in the south as it is so warm and dry. The north will see most of the rain, however the winds from the north do sweep down to the south, however this is welcomed as it keeps the temperatures stable. The rain normally falls between December and February but you still tend to get around 7 hours of sunshine a day. In the summer you will get around 12 hours of sunshine a day so there is plenty of time to have fun in the sun.
