Couples and families looking for a quiet resort would enjoy Playa de Los Pocillos. The resort is very calm and relaxing so is well suited to people looking for a quieter holiday. The transfer is around 10-20 minutes so you do get a lot of time in your resort. The beach in Playa de Los Pocillos is full of fine, golden sands, blue waters and fine winds. You will find both hotels and apartments in Playa de Los Pocillos that range between 2-5-stars and offer board basis of self-catering, all the way up to all-inclusive.
As well as laying around on the beach all day, there are plenty of water sports to try. The most popular one is windsurfing as there are good winds along the beach. You can also try scuba diving and snorkelling and all of the equipment is available to hire. There are also land activities such as tennis, but this is mainly held in the grounds of hotels. Go karting is also available and is very popular amongst both children and adults. Taking a trip into Costa Teguise for the Aquapark or travelling up to the Timanfaya National Park are both popular options as well.
Playa de Los Pocillos only has a few choices of restaurants, however Puerto del Carmen, just 20 minutes walk away has many more. You will find all cuisines that you can think of including Chinese, Indian, Canarian, French, British, German and Italian. There are a few bars with live music and entertainment and many Irish bars. Puerto del Carmen offers much more entertainment with bars staying open much later. There are a few shops around selling souvenirs and clothings, but Puerto del Carmen will offer you much more. Public Transport is good in Playa de Los Pocillos as it is regular and takes you into neighbouring Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife. There are also taxis available that tend to be cheap.
Playa de Los Pocillos is located in the south east, meaning it sees the best of the weather. It is very dry and hot in Playa de Los Pocillos with very little rainfall. The summer temperatures are around 28°C in June, July and August, with January and February still reaching over 20°C. There is rarely more than 16 days of rain and when it does rain, it is cleared up very quickly. The rain normally falls between December and February but you still tend to get around 7 hours of sunshine a day.
