El Medano - Located in the South

El Medano is a destination that it is quite away from all of the noise of the other resorts. There are things to do such as shop and play water sports but the main thing that people enjoy doing is walking around the resort taking in the views. The beach in El Medano is famous for it white sands and is very popular amongst windsurfers because of the high wind levels.

El Medano – windsurfing became a speciality

El Medano is famous for one very big reason, which is that it is home to many windsurfing competitions. The continuous winds make El Medano the perfect place for people to try their hands at windsurfing. Other activities that you may decide to try include sailing, scuba diving, fishing and plane spotting which is made easy as the airport is located nearby. There is not much to do in the evenings apart from visiting the local restaurants so the resort is definitely for people who enjoy quiet nights in.

El Medano – quiet destination appealing to tourists

El Medano does not have as much to offer as some other resorts, which is why it is a good idea to go and visit some other resorts. There are buses that run into Playa de las Americas where there is more choice of where to eat and things to do. You can only buy the basics in resort so travelling to another resort for shopping is another good idea. There are a few bars and restaurants offering mainly local, traditional food, and there are also a few bars on offer to you for both the day and evening.

El Medano – sunshine all year

El Medano is one of the resorts where the sun shines all year round except for the odd occasion where there is some slight rainfall. The temperatures are near 30C in the summer although there is a higher wind in El Medano. In the winter the temperature drops to around 15C but with the wind, it can feel slightly colder, so many people do decide to take a jacket away with them from time to time.
