Costa Calma Resort Guide
Costa Calma - Located on the South coast of Fuerteventura
The resort is purpose-built and is very popular amongst families and couples; especially if you are on your honeymoon. Your transfer time is around 1 hour meaning you can take in the surrounding views and get a feel for the location of the resort. The resort is a beach resort, with 12 miles of white sands and calm water. The beach is guarded by lifeguards and is safe for children due to the shallow waters. The main beach is called Playa de Sotavento and is definitely the most popular of all the beaches. The beaches do get windy, but they are very safe and comfortable for a days sunbathing. There are both hotels and apartments that are of both 3 and 4-star quality. You will also find all board basis from self-catering to all-inclusive.
Costa Calma – idyllic scenery for a relaxing holiday
Costa Calma is very clean and tidy making it pleasant for people to stay. There are also a lot of activities for people to take part in both day and night. There are many beach activities such as volleyball and water sports. The water sports that you can try are windsurfing, scuba diving and snorkelling amongst others. One of the main excursions that you can also try is the Baku water park. This is in Corralejo and is very popular amongst children and groups of friends. Trips into Corralejo are ideal if you want to see a busier resort and here is where you can get a ferry to nearby Lanzarote.
Costa Calma – relaxing evenings by the sea
Costa Calma is home to many restaurants offering various different cuisines. These include German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian and English. You may also find some cafés. Everything is reasonably priced making the resort perfect for people on a budget. The nightlife in Costa Calma is fairly quiet with a late night bars and discos. You will also find a few English pubs offering music and television. Many of the hotels within the resort provide evening entertainment which is perfect for families with young children. There are a few tourist outlets selling clothes, jewellery and souvenirs. Public transport is fairly good with regular bus services to other resorts such as Morro Jable and Jandia. There are also buses taking you into Puerto del Rosario so you can shop even more.
Costa Calma – warm weather all year round
As Costa Calma is located in the south of the island, it sees some of the best weather that Fuerteventura has to offer. The summer temperatures are around 28°C and the winter temperatures rarely drop below 20°C. There is very little rainfall in the resort and June, July and August show off 12 hours of sunshine a day and the hottest temperatures. The winter months have a minimum of 5 hours of sunshine a day. There is a slight cooling breeze in Fuerteventura that keeps the temperatures stable and enables people to feel comfortable in the heat.
