Ryanair has announced new flights from the Canary Islands in a bid to move away from the traditional bases of Stansted and Dublin.

39 new routes will be added, 16 from Gran Canaria, 15 from Lanzarote and 8 from Tenerife, staring in October.

Customers will be able to get cheaper flights to these destinations and the local economies in the Canaries will also benefit with 2 million people aiming to use the new routes. 2000 new jobs are also likely to be created.

Ryanair have added the new routes thanks to the fact that there are no Spanish tourist taxes and 100% cut in airport charges.
