Golfers looking for an exotic destination for their next sporting trip might be interested to learn that Vietnam can now boast courses designed by three of golf’s true legends – Colin Montgomerie, Greg Norman and Sir Nick Faldo.
The three stars, who between them have created 108 golf courses around the world, have also each developed a course on Vietnam’s coast, near the city of Da Nang. Dan Nang is Vietnam’s third largest city and the three outstanding courses make up part of the country’s Golf Coast Vietnam – an organisation set up to market Vietnam’s golfing destinations to golfers around Australasia, western Europe and other regions.
“Not only do we offer the best golfing experience in Asia, but this is the only place in the world where three of the leading golfers of the modern era have put their individual stamp on courses they personally designed,” explained Jon Tomlinson, who coordinates the Golf Coast Vietnam group and is also general director of the Montgomerie Links. He added that golfers looking for a holiday in the south-east Asia region should look at Vietnam before any other options.
As well as the Montgomerie Links designed by the famous Scot, Australian golf superstar Greg Norman designed the Dunes course at the Da Nang Golf Club. The course was opened in 2011, and will be joined in 2012 by the Laguna Lang Co course designed by Sir Nick Faldo, situated just north of Da Nang.
