Thomas Cook Airlines have announced that they have increased the amount of legroom for passengers travelling on a longhaul flight in economy class.

The airline now flies from London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham into faraway destinations such as Montreal and Dominican Republic.

The legroom will increase to 33 inches from May next year. This will be more than British Airways and Virgin Atlantic who both offer 31 inches. The change is happening in time for the merge of Thomas Cook and MyTravel, which will come together in March 2008 under the name Thomas Cook Airlines.
