Every year that Heathrow’s third runway is delayed, the British economy loses £1 billion.  This is due to loss of competitiveness and productivity.

Environmental campaigners are still trying to stop the expansion of the airport but they do not realise how much money is being lost. If the third runway was allowed the go ahead, then £12.8 billion would be made in increased productivity on top of £20 billion in other economic benefits.

There will be more people employed and more business interests from abroad meaning more revenue will be raised. More travellers will use the airport as there would be more frequent flights and shorter delays.
