The president of Virgin Atlantic, Sir Richard Branson has backed the expansion plans at London Heathrow Airport. This comes after a protest yesterday by environmentalists against the third runway.
The public consultations are due to be held tomorrow. Sir Richard has said that increasing the airport’s potential capacity would ensure London’s position as a centre for global finance and business.
It is believed that the only way that Heathrow will keep up with other leading European airports is to build the third runway.
It has been said that there will be less delays and manoeuvres that increase pollution meaning the environment and travellers will have a better experience.
