Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) recently announced that its popular Travel Companion destination guides have become available digitally, allowing prospective visitors to the African country to discover more about its four main tourist regions. The Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Travel Companions were released on disc and at BTO’s website, facilitating a digital generation reliant upon quick and convenient information.
Working like an iBook, these digital flip books give users the ability to zoom, click hyperlinks, flip pages and download in high resolution – must have features for properly presenting the vastness of the country and all it has to offer. The brochures are also designed to be compatible with all browsers like the ever-popular Internet Explorer and more progressive Chrome and Firefox browsers, integrating search, sharing and printing features to give people every opportunity to spread the word about Botswana.
BTO has actively delved into the social world engaging its audience via Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, aiming to share information and build a thriving online community that allows professionals from the travel trade and consumers alike to experience Botswana together.
Famous for its wildlife, areas like Moremi National Park in the Okavango Delta and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve have a very high concentration of game, providing breathtaking scenery and safari adventures throughout the year. Victoria Falls, the world-famous falls straggling the Zimbabwean and Zambian borders, are also easily accessible from Chobe National Park in the northwest Botswana. Gaborone, the cosmopolitan capital, provides entertainment and nightlife the Batswana way. Located in the south of the country, South Africa is not far away, meaning this centrally located country can give holidaymakers a great run for their money!
