Turunc Resort Guide

Turunc – located on the south west coast of Turkey

Turunc is a resort well suited to couples of all ages as it has the atmosphere for everyone with both quiet areas and noisy areas. The transfer time for this resort from Dalaman airport is around 2 hours. This gives you plenty of time to look at the scenery that other areas of Turkey have to offer. It also gives you plenty of time to gain an understanding of the location of you resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach is attractive and popular with plenty of sunbeds and parasols for you to use. However it does get very busy during peak summer months so be sure to get there early. There are a few small hotels as well as large ones in Turunc. You will also find a few self-catering apartments within the resort.

Turunc – plenty of water sports to keep you occupied

Turunc has some brilliant water sports to try down at the beach. These include windsurfing, surfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing and rides on a pedallo. When it comes to the scuba diving, full instruction is given to beginners and there are the facilities for you to hire all of the equipment. Hiking is also a popular activity in Turunc, and a great way to see the sites. Boat trips are brilliant as you can see other resorts and island. On the boat trips you will also see reefs and dolphins and some trips even stop on secluded beaches for barbecues. If you enjoy excursions, then why not try the Turkish baths for a relaxing time, or go sightseeing in some ancient villages. There are also some jeep safaris which are very popular among tourists.

Turunc – plenty of restaurants with a range of cuisines

Turunc is home to some brilliant restaurants, many offering the traditional Turkish cuisines. As well as this, you will find a lot of seafood on offer. This is very popular, however if both of these are not to your liking then why not try the more international cuisines. You will find Chinese, Italian and British cuisines. The bars in Turunc play loud music and offer karaoke and cocktails. The bars do not stay open all night, however they are open until late. If you want a really vibrant nightlife, then head over to nearby Marmaris. There is a wide selection of shops for you to choose from where you will find souvenirs, clothing, shoes, bags, leather goods and jewellery. There are regular buses that travel every half hour into resorts such as Marmaris. Buses also take you around Turunc. Taxis are always available and will take you anywhere for reasonable fares.

Turunc – typically Mediterranean climate

Turunc is a hot resort with 320 days of pure sunshine a year. August is the hottest month in Turunc with temperatures exceeding 35°C. There is a cooling sea breeze that sweeps through the resort keeping the humidity down and temperatures at a comfortable level. You will also be lucky enough to get 13 hours of pure sunshine a day in Turunc. From July until the end of September, it is very unlikely that temperatures will drop below 30°C. From October onwards, temperatures are still above 25°C and you will still see over 10 hours of sunshine a day. The water temperatures are very warm making it all the more pleasant to try water sports. During the winter, temperatures are still around 15°C. There are still around 5 hours of sunshine a day for you to enjoy, however there will be the odd shower. The rainfall is very infrequent and does not last long so there is still plenty of time to go and enjoy the sunshine.
