Shop in the world's largest covered market, Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, then head uptown to browse for cut-price fashion goods and clothing in the department stores along Istiklal Caddesi or upmarket Nisantasi. White water rafting is a great activity to try on one of the many rivers. Turkish baths are also popular to relax in and are very soothing. Trekking is another popular activity, especially in Kaçkar mountain. Take an early morning hot-air balloon flight over the stunning, other-worldly moonscape of Cappadocia in central Anatolia.

Depending on where you choose to spend your holidays in Turkey the climate will vary. However, as an average, you can expect 300 days of full sun every year, with an average of 12 hours of sunshine per day between May and October.
If you choose to take your holidays in Turkey during the height of the summer then the temperatures can peak at around 35 degrees. However, outside of the months of June, July and August the temperatures are cooler. This tends to extend the holiday period and makes it a great destination for last minute holidays or if you are looking for a cheap holiday in Turkey then booking outside of the high season will ensure you get excellent value for money.
