The town of Bodrum has plenty to explore. Just looking at all the houses gives you hints of history and culture, however there is more to Bodrum than just the town. There is a St. Peter's Castle as well as an archaeological museum. There are also many ruins, such as an ancient tomb. If you really enjoy history then you should definitely see one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. There are also plenty of excursions to go on such as ferry trips to Kos and Rhodes for shopping and more sightseeing. You can also explore the coast on a cruise or visit the Bodrum peninsula.

Bodrum - An Extensive Choice Of Restaurants

As with most holiday resorts in Turkey, the main cuisine is traditional Turkish. You will also find a lot of Italian cuisine available, including pizza. There are many fast-food outlets as well as many seafood restaurants along the harbour. They can be slightly more expensive but are definitely worth it. There is plenty of nightlife for you to enjoy with many late night music bars, nightclubs and discos. One of the nightclubs is a large open-air venue which is very popular among both tourists and locals. There are plenty of shops for you to look around, including clothing shops, jewellery shops and bag and shoe shops. You will also be able to find plenty of souvenirs to take home with you and there is even a market on Thursdays and Fridays. Buses are reliable and efficient and take you all over Bodrum and neighbouring resorts throughout the day.

Bodrum - Brilliant Weather In Both Summer And Winter

Bodrum is a brilliant resort that boasts over 300 days of sunshine. If you are looking for a hit and sunny resort, then visit Bodrum any time between May and October. You will get over 12 hours of sunshine a day with temperatures in August reaching over 35°C. There is a coastal breeze to keep humidity down and maintain the temperatures, however it still gets very hot. Air conditioning is definitely recommended if you are staying here. The water temperature reaches over 25°C making swimming very comfortable. Spring and Autumn are obviously cooler, however still very pleasant. Although in the winter months, the sunshine hours drop to around 5 hours, the temperature still remains high at 15-20°C.

"The Serhan Hotel is a really nice place to stay and relatively peaceful considering it is only 5 minutes away from the main strip in Gumbet, which means that the clubs, bars, shops and restaurants are easily within walking distance, but it is not plagued with thumping music and traffic. The staff are really helpful, nothing is too much trouble and we felt as if we were being well catered and cared for. The rooms were very reasonable with good facilities and cleaned every afternoon (No diturbed sleep-in). Breakfast was a more than adequate buffet and you could order food all day from the restaurant (till 10.30pm) or bar (24 hrs). When you want a change of scenery, Bodrum town is eaily accessible by bus at the corner and the staff would also help organise excursions if you do not have a Rep. Really enjoyable holiday, would go back."

"Overall, a very good value for money accommodation. Apartments are large and clean, if a little basic. Don't plan to cook in the kitchen! The pool got a little crowded at times. Our biggest moan would be that the music played at the pool during the day was very loud and repetitive, sometimes so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation. We did ask on several occasions for it to be turned down, but the volume always crept up again! There was a charge of 10 euros per day for the air conditioning, which we were not aware of. Having said that, maybe we failed to pick this up in the documentation. On the plus side, the staff were very friendy and helpful. We would use this accommodation again - you get what you pay for - we were not expecting 5* luxury! I would not recommend for the disabled or elderly, as some of the apartments were situated up approx six flights of stairs."
