Malaga Resort Guide

Malaga - Located in Southern Spain on the Mediterranean coast

The resort of Malaga is perfectly suited to people looking for a relaxing break. Families with young children and teenagers and couples are usually found here. The transfer time is very small as you will fly into Malaga airport which is only 5 miles away from the accommodation in the resort. There is a very long sandy seafront that links on to neighbouring resorts beaches. The best Malaga beach is Malaga is Playa de las Acacias. This is full of golden sands leading down to the water. There is a lot of accommodation in Malaga with many hotels ranging from 3-4-stars. Most hotels are also close to the city centre. You will also find a lot of apartments offering the self-catering option and a camp-site.

Malaga – plenty of exploring to do

Malaga has some brilliant sites for you to go and explore. The centre of the resort is very historic with a bullring, a cathedral and many churches. You will also find an archaeological museum and an art gallery so that you can look at real Spanish culture. In the art gallery, you will find a lot of Picasso\'s work as he was born in Malaga. There are over 200 pieces of his artwork in the gallery. Ronda and White Villages are recommended as they are very scenic and are located in the dramatic setting in the mountains. Golf is very popular in Malaga which is why there are so many courses available. During the Easter period, Malaga holds a brilliant festival. You will also find music and cinema festivals in the summer months.

Malaga – plenty of places to eat and drink

Most of the restaurants in Malaga are Spanish. There is a lot of seafood in the resort that many people enjoy. However if you are not a fan then you will also find some Chinese and Italian restaurants. If you choose to eat in your hotel, then you may find some British food. Everyone is basically catered for somewhere in the resort. The nightlife is not as lively as other resorts, however you will find some bars and discos. You will also find a cinema, a theatre, concerts and many Flamenco shows to keep you entertained in the evening. There are plenty of places for you to go shopping, mainly in the old city centre. You will find department stores, clothing, ceramics, crafts, leather goods, jewellery and souvenirs. There are both daily train and bus services in Malaga taking you into other resorts such as Granada, Jerez and Seville.

Malaga – perfect dry, summers weather

Malaga has some of the best weather in Spain. January tends to be the coldest month, but still has an average temperature of around 17°C. July and August are the warmest months in Malaga with an average temperature of 28°C. The resort is typically Mediterranean with very long and sunny days. During the summer months, you will have over 10 hours of sunshine a day and in the winter you will see around 6 hours of sunshine a day. December has the lowest amount of sunshine a day, with July and August having he most sunshine. There are at least 300 days of sunshine in Malaga and temperatures can reach above 30°C in the summer months. From May, the sea temperatures rise making days at the beach even better. There is hardly any rain, even in the winter months.
