Costa del Sol - Located along the entire Mediterranean coast of Andalucia
Holidays in the Costa del Sol attract a variety of visitors every year. There are family resorts, lively resorts and plenty of places for couples. Costa del Sol beaches are perfect for holiday makers with their fine sands and gorgeous blue waters. There are many purpose built resorts in the Costa del Sol as well as upmarket and classy ones such as Marbella where you may find a few celebrities if your lucky. There are so many accommodations to choose from, that you really are spoilt for choice. There is a large number of hotels, all ranging from 2-5-stars. Most hotels have swimming pools and are very popular with families, couples, and groups of friends. You will also find a lot of self catering apartments which all have facilities such as kitchenettes and anything else that you may need. There are also places to go camping or you could stay in a hostel.
Costa del Sol – plenty of things to keep you occupied during your stay
Golf is a very popular activity in Costa del Sol hence why there are 50-top class golf courses there. Everyone is welcome on the courses, from professionals, to experienced people to beginners. There are plenty of water sports for you to enjoy over the 100 miles of coastline in the Costa del Sol. There are plenty of places along the beach for you to hire equipment and you can even take lessons in some activities. The water sports that you can try include water-skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing and jet-skiing. You can also take rides on banana boats in some resorts. Horse-riding is popular in the Costa del Sol and it is a great way to get around and see the rest of the resort. There is also plenty to keep the children happy, with amusement parks and a zoo. The Tivoli World Amusement Park has rides and even holds a Flamenco display. You can also go to the zoo and even to the Sea Life Centre, a crocodile park and Dolphin World.
Costa del Sol – plenty of places to eat and drink
In the Costa del Sol, seafood is very popular. You will find many seafood restaurants as well as many Spanish ones with dishes such as Paella. You will also find many other cuisines such as British, Italian, American, Chinese, Mexican and Indian. There are also many fine wines grown in nearby vineyards on offer which are very popular. The nightlife in Costa del Sol varies depending on which resort you are in. Many of the resorts are very lively and you will find karaoke bars, cocktail bars, casinos, nightclubs, British pubs, Irish bars and Spanish bars. There is also a lot of shows put in such as Flamenco dancers. Shopping is very popular in the Costa del Sol and you will find absolutely everything there. You could get furniture, clothing, jewellery, produce, cosmetics, make-up, electrical goods or even little crafts. Public transport in the resort is brilliant with buses taking you all over the Costa del Sol. They take you into other resorts as do metered taxis. There are also boat trips taking you along the coast into other resorts.
Costa del Sol – 330 of pure sunshine each year
The Costa del Sol is nicknamed the Sun Coast and when you visit you will understand why. The average temperature is around 22°C with the average water temperature being 18°C. During the summer months, the water temperature can reach up to 23°C making water sports perfect. If you want to avoid visiting in the hottest months then visit in May or June where temperatures are around 27°C. The highest summer temperature tends to be around 30°C. Marbella has very little rain during the winter months compared to some of the other resorts as it is sheltered. The coldest month is January, however temperatures still manage to reach 16°C. The sun is always out and when it does rain, it is cleared up very quickly.
