Almeria - Located on the South-East coast of Spain
Almeria holidays are very popular amongst families and couples looking for a relaxing resort that is uncrowded and sunny. The airport transfer to Almeria takes only around 55 minutes, allowing you to get an understanding of the location of the resort and take in all of the scenery on the way. Almeria beaches tend to be fairly uncrowded, however they are still very popular as the weather is so good here. The sand is fine and golden with beautiful blue waters. The water tends to be fairly calm but it is still important to look at the coloured flags on the beach to see if it is safe. You will find many hotels and apartments in Almeria that range from 1-5-stars. You will also find every board basis available from self-catering to all-inclusive.
Almeria – plenty to see and do
Almeria has plenty of activities for you to try. Horse-riding is a very popular activity as it enables tourists to take a look at the resort and its countryside. It is a great way to explore, as you can find beaches or even a few desert plains that were used in many western movies. There are plenty of other places for you to explore should you want to such as visiting the historic Old Town of Almeria. Here, you will find a castle, a cathedral and many ancient ruins to explore. Hiking is a popular activity as there are so many places to do it such as on mountains, cliff tops or even in the valleys. Cabo de Gata National Park consists of beaches and caves as well as other picturesque sights that you can enjoy. For those of you who prefer being in the water, then snorkelling and scuba diving are recommended. It is a very popular and interesting activity as there is so much to see such the marine life, caves, and even shipwrecks.
Almeria – a well-known resort for its restaurants
Almeria has a fairly mild nightlife compared to some other resorts with a few bars and discos. The food and drink in Almeria is very reasonably priced and there are many cuisines on offer. There is a lot of seafood, as well as fruit and veg available. Chinese food, British, Spanish and Italian foods are all available throughout Almeria. There is a local market in the resort, as well as a few shops offering souvenirs, clothing and jewellery. Public transport in the resort is fairly good, with taxis offering reasonable rates and many buses taking you into other resorts around Spain.
Almeria – has some of the best weather in Spain
lmeria actually has the lowest rainfall levels within Europe. June to September offer the best weather in Almeria, with pure sunshine all day and warm evenings. The temperatures rarely fall below 30°C during the summer months, with the winter months seeing temperatures of at least 16°C. You will have around 12 hours of sunshine a day in the summer and 6 hours in the winter. Almeria is a popular destination all year round as it is so warm and dry. Any rainfall that does fall is more than likely seen between October and March. There is a slight coastal breeze, so summer temperatures remain bearable.
