Spain Review
Overview
The straw donkey and sombrero image of Spain is now largely consigned to the bin - along with the paella and chips. In its place comes a sheaf of sparkling and evocative new images, as the visitor trend turns from sun-and-fun package holidays to individually tailored, more sophisticated themes.
Spain is a country on the move, a place of rapid change. High-speed railways have conquered the country’s mountainous terrain and many cities now have modern metro and tram networks, testifying to a vibrant and growing economy. But here, too, you will find a country where time stands still, where Roman columns rise into a clear blue sky, where crumbling Arab watchtowers maintain a lonely vigil over vast and magnificent landscapes, and city plazas where the baroque jostles with the modern to strike a uniquely Spanish harmony.
The historic cities of Spain are drenched in the atmosphere of the past, but well equipped to meet modern needs as well. The countryside is infinitely varied, from the ‘Green Spain’ of the rugged Atlantic coast to the parched plains of Castile and La Mancha. The open roads across endless open spaces produce a steady stream of surprises, with hidden villages and unexpected castles, shepherds roaming with their flocks and hilltop windmills appearing unexpectedly. It is a great country for touring.
Rich in history and natural beauty and with more than a fair share of sunshine Spain is a year-round, natural choice for many different kinds of holiday, from outdoor adventures to world-class museums and art galleries to an infinite variety of popular beaches and secluded coves. Not least the people are warm and welcoming - and they know how to party. The Spanish experience would be incomplete without joining in at least one of its famous fiestas.

"A wonderful hotel in the centre of Los Cristianos. Really relaxing, child-free environment. Friendly staff. Clean, spacious rooms with bed linen changed every other day. Maid service and clean towels daily. Drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices for a 4-star hotel.
Would certainly recommend. Going again this year. Excellent value for money...love it! Great bars and resturants close by. Try the Irish Welcome for a fantastic night!"

Hotel Santa Susanna Resort

"We recently spent a long weekend at the Santa Susanna Resort Hotel and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff worked non-stop. The food was great and varied (even with a fussy 8 year old). We managed a trip to Barcelona by ourselves with the help of the reception staff\\'s directions. We wished we could have stayed longer.
We loved it and would consider going back to the same hotel. "

"Have stayed at the Doramar on last 8 trips. Always very clean, apartment staff friendly, polite and always on hand. The Dorado Bar by the pool is franchised out, again with friendly staff who ensure you have a good time. Entertainment in the bar every night of the week. Very reasonably priced, 5 min walk to the beach and local shops."

Jable Bermudas Apartments

"We thought the accommodation was clean spacious and ideally situated for access to the beach. If self-catering, shops very close and only 5 mins to the town and 2 mins to the sea front for bars, shops and restaurants. Apartments had everything required for a holiday and the balconies were large.
Would definitely return there and recommend the apartments to anyone."

Cala Bona (Majorca)

|
|
"We have stayed in this hotel previously and will definitely be returning. It is probably the oldest hotel in Cala Bona and is split into two parts. The hotel is ideally situated for the local bus and water taxi services and is in a flat area. This is a quiet hotel with varied nightly entertainment and is generally suited for the more mature traveller."

H. Top Amaika

"I have stayed at the Amaika three times over the last 18 months. I honestly cannot find any fault with this hotel. It is cleaned to a very high standard, is very luxurious and excellent value for money. I went all inclusive on all three occasions and was never disappointed with the food. The staff all work very hard and are very very helpful.
I have recommended this hotel to my friends and family, some of whom have booked a stay here themselves and who have all been as pleased as I am with the hotel."

Magic No Name Hotel (Costa Blanca)

"Enjoyed our holiday with this group of Hotels. It was great being able to go between the different hotels.
The Monicka, I would say was a really great complex for families. It's outside Benidorm, but you can use the free bus. We went to the market so, because we didnt know where it was, we went by taxi, costing 9 Euros from the Crystal Park, where we stayed.
Rock Gardens is beautiful, but up 'Cardiac Hill', although I think most of the hotels hire out disabled scooters.
I would go back again."

Coral Beach Apartments
|
|
|
"The coral beach apartments were excellent, spotless clean. Calpe, on the other hand, is not somewhere to go if you're looking for nightlife or excitement. It's quite boring and hardly anybody speaks English. The restaurants are OK, but you have to look at the pictures on the menu, unless you read Spanish or German. Not a place for headers but the apartments were fantastic."
