Agadir – located in south west Morocco

As well as relaxing on the beach, you can also take part in some of the water sports such as jet-skiing, taking a pedalo out or wind-surfing. Snorkelling has also become increasingly popular. Shark fishing is something that you can also try. If you prefer to stay away from the water then you can always visit one of the 3 professional courses in Agadir itself. Thanks to the constant sunshine, Agadir is a perfect destination for golfing. Horse riding is also very popular and a great way of getting around Agadir. You can go for rides along the beach or along the mountain paths, exploring the extensive countryside around the resort. Camel rides are very popular, especially the sunrise and sunset treks. Something that will appeal to many people is the safari in the dunes of the Sahara Desert. This is an overnight trip, enabling you to stay in a tent over night.

Agadir – a large selection of restaurants to choose from

There are many restaurants in Agadir with a variety of cuisines on offer. These include French, Oriental, Italian, Spanish and of course, Moroccan. Seafood is a favourite in the resort with fresh fish served everywhere. Most of the nightlife is limited to hotels with entertainment programmes put on show. However, there are also many nightclubs and bars with live music and entertainment. Cabaret evenings are very popular as well as a fine dining evening at the Agadir Beach Club. There are many shops on offer in Agadir, some with designer clothing and others with high street brands. You will also find jewellery, bags, souvenirs and crafts in many shops. The local market gives you an opportunity to haggle on prices. When it comes to public transport, you are quite lucky. There is a mini train during the day as well as local buses and taxis. It is important to agree the price before getting into the taxi but most tend to be reasonable.

Agadir – warm, sunny, Mediterranean weather

Agadir has a very Mediterranean climate, with very hot summers and warm winters. The summer is the best to visit as it is very dry and warm with cloudness skies and cool sea breezes, keeping humidity levels at a low. July and August are the warmest months with an average of 10 hours of pure sunshine a day. Agadir has over 300 days of sunshine with an average temperature of 19°C. Temperatures have, however, been known to reach 28°C during the summer months. During April and May, you may find some rain, however by June this disappears and will not return until the winter. The average water temperature is 18°C and combined with the coastal breeze, makes surfing all the more enjoyable. Winters in Agadir are mild with around 7 hours of sunshine and average temperatures of around 14-15°C which does drop to around 10°C in later months. October is when the rain will begin, however between December and March are when you will find the wettest times.
