Cool relaxed and simply dressed with a wonderful hilltop setting this place is a great choice. As a quiet holiday escape this complex has got a lot going for it. Perched on a hill overlooking the rugged coastline its sandwiched between the sea and 400 metres from the resort centre. As for the beach itself the unusual black sand is just 600 metres away from your doorstep should you fancy a lazy day lounging on the sand or splashing around to your hearts content. Three goodsized pools surrounded by palms gives the beach a run for its money. Theres even a separate section for the kids to splash about in. Tempting you away from your sunbed for a refreshing drink is the poolside bar. Theres also a lounge bar for that much needed cocktail. When it comes to dining the buffet restaurant serves up everything from pasta and salads to Canarian specialities. Last but not least are the activities and entertainment. Were talking everything from table tennis to tennis during the daytime and regular entertainment at night. Located in six buildings the accommodation here is uncomplicated yet valueformoney.

This was our third stay. A really clean hotel with spacious rooms. We visit Tenerife to see family and will continue to book this hotel as it is convenient, clean and very pretty. Pools were freezing as we always go in Winter, but this is my only complaint.
It's a big hotel, but for February was really quiet. Try Pilgrims bar just down the road, which has god food and the Thai restaurant next door is a must. Highly recommend Barcelo Varadero and cannot wait to go back. Arena ia a superb, quiet resort.
