The hotel is a period hotel designed and built according to the Dutch and Portuguese architectural principles of Fort Cochin in the early 16th and 17th centuries. It resembles the old colonial buildings of Cochin and blends very well into the city's skyline. The establishment offers guests a lobby, café, restaurant, conference facilities and room service.
The hotel is situated at the historic site of a 19th century boat yard and has suites overlooking the harbour mouth. It is about 15 minutes by ferry across the backwaters and 30 minutes from Cochin Airport.
The rooms are quiet, quaint and designed in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The eye catching, antique four-poster beds are the centre of attention in the rooms and suites. The spacious en suite bathrooms are a luxury with a separate shower cubicle where guests can enjoy a great view. Most rooms have a balcony. The corner suites are large with a separate sitting/dining area and a private pantry for the butler. The rooms are also equipped with a TV and individually regulated air conditioning.
Guests make take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool, workout in the gym or relax with a massage treatment.
The History restaurant is a unique gastronomic exploration of Kerala's famous port.
