Location and Resort:
The hotel's excellent location puts it close to much of the best attractions and commercial areas in the city; the rural setting of the Fes within the country and not far from the mountains offer plenty of opportunities for activities and places to see. Some of the more notable sites in the area are found in the historic old town of Fes, known as Fes el Bali, which has been designated a UNESCO site for its many important monuments such as its Medina, the Andalous Mosque dating back over a thousand years and most famously the world's oldest still functioning university, the University of Al-Karaouine established in 859.
Aside from the old town this large city has well-established and modern commercial centres that feature a huge variety of shops and restaurants to visit, along with entertainment such as theatres and museums that will give you plenty to do during your holiday.
Some of the nearby outdoor activities to try include hikes and horse riding in the Middle Atlas Mountains, there is also the Golf Royal Fes course around 6 miles away. There are several other interesting locations not far from the city such as the Roman ruins of Volubilis, another world heritage site and the City of Sofrou where in June the Cherry festival is celebrated.
Eating and Drinking:
Breakfast is served between 8 and 10:30am in the terrace restaurant, which serves Fassi menus with salads, Moroccan tagines and other light specialties. There is also a bar lounge area for you to sit back and relax in.
There is a large outdoor pool with sun loungers which look out over the city.
With its great location, and stunning views of the old city, the Palais Al Firdaous is the perfect place to stay where you can get a taste of the old Moroccan lifestyle and culture, but still have all the modern necessities.
