The use of natural finishes throughout helps the club resort blend seamlessly into its surroundings and wherever possible recycled and sustainable materials have been used. The establishment was built and renovated in 2011 and offers 27 villas. Guests are welcomed in the lobby, which offers a hotel safe. Additional amenities include a restaurant and guests can make use of the room and laundry services.
The property sits in Cambodia's Koh Rong archipelago, which is made up of mostly uninhabited islands - oases of virgin rainforests, coral reefs and pure white beaches. The resort spans two discreet islands called Koh Ouen and Koh Bong, which are referred to collectively as Song Saa - Khmer for 'The Sweethearts'. The islands are connected by a footbridge over a private marine reserve established to safeguard the islands' reefs and marine life, including dugongs, turtles, seahorses and tropical fish.
The resort features one- and two-bedroom jungle, ocean-view and over-water villas, which are designed around the theme of a Cambodian fishing village, but with all the luxuries and modern conveniences expected of a world-class resort. All villas feature an exquisite bathroom, complete with twin bathtubs and an indoor shower, outdoor showers to make the most of the tropical climate, and indulgent skin, hair and body care products. Villas also feature king-size beds, dressed with the highest quality linen, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV and wireless Internet access. Further features include a generously stocked minibar, a mini wine cellar, a safe for valuable possessions, an espresso machine and integrated sound system complete with iPod docking station. Individually regulated air conditioning and a terrace round off the room amenities.
Guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols by the water's edge. Fitness enthusiasts can work out in the gym and guests can enjoy a relaxing massage or spa treatment. Visitors receive free access to water sports equipment such as snorkelling gear, kayaks, canoes and sailboats. Guided tours of Koh Bong and Koh Ouen, the twin islands that form Song Saa, are also available. The nearby sandy beach offers sun loungers and parasols.
At the heart of this private island is an over-water lounge and restaurant with 360-degree ocean view staffed by world-class chefs offering fine Khmer and Western cuisines. The resort also has a bar situated on the sand offering tapas and gourmet pizzas from the wood fired oven and BBQ. It is a perfect place for casual dining or for a chilled glass of wine or a cocktail. The resort also offers unique location dining experiences, tailored to guests and designed to match the charms of each location on the island. Breakfast is served each morning and lunch and dinner can be selected from a set menu.
