Originating from an 18th-Century coaching inn, the Old Swan was rebuilt in 1840. Set in 5 1/2 acres of gardens, the hotel is famous as the retreat of Agatha Christie during her disapearance in 1926 and then as the location for the film 'Agatha' starring Dustin Hoffman and Vanessa Redgrave in 1977.
