The lodge is located on a prime waterfront site. The architecture is a restoration of a style that originated over one hundred years ago with coral and lime walls over a metre thick and original teak beams. The 9 rooms are individual, and simply designed, with splashes of opulence. An air-conditioned lounge and private dining room as well as a roof terrace restaurant with an open-air lounge area for after dinner drinks under the stars is also available to guests. Furthermore, the property features a hotel safe, bar, pub, disco and conference facilities. For additional fees guests may take advantage of the laundry service and onsite bicycle hire.
The lodge is situated in the Indian Ocean paradise of Ibo Island. Virtually unknown to the outside world and undisturbed for centuries there is a place where time has stood still. This is Ibo Island, or as the locals call it, Ilha do Ibo. Nestled in the awesome Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique, and nominated for World Heritage status, Ibo is an island that is remote and untouched by commercial developments and one of the most fascinating, idyllic islands.
The rooms have been designed to incorporate the original architecture of the buildings. All are individually designed and unique. The wide verandas are furnished with hand crafted furniture and soft cushions. All rooms are air-conditioned and also have ceiling fans. The en suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, bath and hairdryer and the bedrooms are furnished with king-size beds.
The lodge has two swimming pools set in tropical gardens planted with frangipani and bougainvillea.
