Designed with business travellers in mind, the hotel occupies a 12-story tower built in 1952 clad in Carrara marble. The 1950s corporate look has been retained, with its 15-time-zone clock and polished aluminium accents. Nothing is standard about the decor, which has theatrical and exhibitionistic qualities that bode well with the clientele. The original columns are sheathed in mirrored glass and the lobby lounge's 125-foot long pink sofa has raised sections for guests who want to put themselves on display. A hairdressing salon is available on site.
This Los Angeles property is located near Los Angeles Central Public Library and the US Bank Tower. Additional nearby points of interest include the Music Center and Disney Hall.
The hotel provides convenient rooms.
Guests can play billiards or relax and enjoy the nightly DJ. Guests have a free pass to the rooftop bar and pool, bypassing the crowd of outsiders gathered at the entrance, waiting to be admitted to the party on the top floor.
The 24-hour restaurant looks like the inside of an egg carton, with yolk yellow floors and egg-shaped pendant lighting.
