Luxor - Brilliant Summer Temperatures

Luxor benefits from daily warm weather. During the summer, temperatures can be as high as 43°C during the day and drop to 7°C at night. The average minimum temperature in the winter is 14°C and in the summer it is 30°C although it can reach a lot higher than this. There is little rainfall in the resort and when it does rain it normally clears up very quickly. June, July and August are the warmest months in Luxor with December being the coldest. However, December still occasionally gets a high of 20.5°C.

"The food was not wonderful, but okay. A lot of people had tummy upsets. The wine was 17 Euros a bottle - much too expensive. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I booked this ship thinking it was a 5 star."

Tutotel Hotel (Egypt - Luxor)
"The hotel is generally of a good basic standard and is in a central location. I stayed in one of the most basic rooms (I hope) and although it was fine, the bathroom i.e. shower wasn't in the best shape. Nor was the 'pool'. It really could do with some refurbishment and the only thing I was brave enough to use it for was to cool my feet. The roof terrace was of much the same standard and I'd advise against venturing up there, other than to take photographs of the sun setting over the Nile. It would be great if the hotel began serving a selection of Egyptian dishes as well as western meals, but that isn\\'t a biggie. However, beware of housekeeping staff - my toilet paper often went missing and, on the last night I was there, a worker decided to turn on my air-conditioning in the hope he would receive an end-of-holiday tip. I ended up having to shout at him so be wary of Bakeesh and all that goes with it. "

Tutotel Hotel (Egypt - Luxor)
"My experience of Tutotel was quite an ordeal, as each evening when I returned to the hotel room I would find something missing or not working e.g. toilet paper would be taken away or the air conditioning would be turned on purposely, because the hotel staff would want tips. Some evenings I would be disturbed out of my sleep because again a staff member was after his tip. Other than the above complaints, Tutotel has the potential of improving itself and being a great hotel, but first of all the pool area should be cleaned regularly, not just the pool and the staff shouldn't harass the customers. I'm really sorry about this review but I can only be honest."

Morris Hotel
"The Morris Hotel is not a hotel I would send any one to. It was only half way finished, with a lift that doesnt work and 6 floors to walk up to reach the pool, which was unattended. There were only 3 floors finished, then it was like walking through a derilict building. I got an allergy from the pool and had to have an injection at the hospital. The food was not fresh and I stopped attending for breakfast. I have visited Luxor every year for 6 years now and I can safely say that the Morris Hotel has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and can only wonder how this hotel has received a 4 star award."
