Hurghada - Located On The East Coast Of Egypt

Hurghada is a specialist scuba diving resort so anyone who enjoys water sports should come here. Families and couples looking for a peaceful and relaxing time together would find this resort appealing. The transfer time from Hurghada airport to the resort is only 10-30 minutes meaning you get to spend a lot of time in your resort but you do also get to see some of the scenery on the way. Most of the hotels have their own beaches in Hurghada where you can try various water sports. You are likely to find fine golden sands on the beaches leading down to the water. Nearly all of the hotels are located near the beach and are normally 3-5-star. Some of the hotels are in the town but maybe 2-3-stars instead.

Hurghada - Plenty Of Water Sports To Keep You Entertained

Hurghada is very popular among those who like windsurfing and scuba diving. There are over 100 diving centres that will show you how to dive and where to find the best sights of tropical fish and the coral reef. Desert safaris are popular as you can take either a quad-bike or a Jeep. Camel rides and a BBQ are also available to you. Beach parties attract hundreds of people to Hurghada. It is famous for the live music and DJ\\\'s that entertain people until dawn. The beach parties are open to people of all ages and are not to be missed. A well as this you can try horse-riding, bowling, tennis, squash, jet-skiing, water-skiing, snorkelling and surfing. There is even a submarine trip for you to go on.

Hurghada - Plenty Of Restaurants To Choose From

Hurghada has many restaurants both in and around the hotels which have Greek, Italian, Chinese, Korean, European and Egyptian cuisines as well as a few steak bars. Most hotels in Hurghada have entertainment in the evenings in the form of dancing or music. Most of the bars and pubs are hotel based meaning you do not have to go very far for a good night. There are many jewellery shops in the resort as well as a few places selling leather goods and souvenirs. There are public minibuses which are cheap and will take you around the resort. As well as this, there are plenty of taxis available, although make sure you agree a price before making the journey.

Hurghada - Brilliant Summer Temperatures

Hurghada benefits from daily warm weather as it is located in the east. During the summer, temperatures can be as high as 43°C during the day and drop to 7°C at night. The average minimum temperature in the winter is 14°C and in the summer it is 30°C although it can reach a lot higher than this. There is little rainfall in the resort and when it does rain it normally clears up very quickly. June, July and August are the warmest months in Hurghada with December being the coldest. However, December still occasionally gets a high of 20.5°C.

"We read the reviews about the Pyramisa before we left, and were left quite concerned about our choice of hotel. However, we had a fantastic holiday! The hotel staff were incredibly polite, kind and generous and we made many friends. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept very clean and tidy. The only drawback in my book would be the food, as there is plenty, but it gets a little repetitive by the end of the week. Other than that, I would strongly recommend this hotel to others. We are very likely to return here in the future. "

"The holiday was great and service good. Except on one occasion I had fish that was not cleaned properly - some scales were left on it. Also, when you ordered fish and chips what you got were small pieces of fried fish, which were hard in a piece for bread and chips. This was from the canteen near the beach as it was not close to the description of the menu. In England when you order fish and chips you get what you asked for. Also there were people trying to sell trips on the boat and it was not really great. We booked a trip to Cairo by plane, which was through Medhotels rep. On our way back the coach nearly toppled over as they hit something and could not continue the journey, with no apologies."

LTI Titanic Beach Spa And Aqua Park
"The overall condition of the hotel is very good and the aqua park is fantastic for the kids. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned well every day. The local alcohol they serve is rather nasty but the beer is ok. The food is different and very bland and not very hot - we used the microwave to heat our food and kill off any germs. There were many Germans and Russians at the hotel. Every service you use, in and ouside the hotel they want to be tipped, 20 Egyptian Pounds is enough. In summary the food and the Russian guests let this place down. My mark is 7.5 / 10"

"On arrival, the reception staff kept my wife and I waiting for more than 45 minutes as they could not find our booking? For most of the 6 days staying in the hotel, we could not use the lifts (both lifts were out of order). It was very hard for me as we were on 3rd Floor and I did suffer from 2 heart attacks last year. Very hard indeed! The best thing about this hotel is the location."

"Well the hotel itself is nowhere near the 5 star rating been given online, let's put it this way, the accommodation is not even equivalent to a 3 star rating! The staff were arrogant. Food wise, well if you are of Russian origin you will probably like the cuisine, I myself and a lot of others were sick and tired of every day same thing kind of stuff. In the canteen/refreshment areas, if you require a glass of coke or any cold beverage you will have to wait until some waiter/service staff catches your eye and decides to serve you. One thing was nice and that's the pool area. One of the largest in Hugharda and we all enjoyed swimming and bathing etc. My overall rating for this hotel is 3 star. If you're after some great pleasurable stay, look elsewhere."

"The place itself was nice and the room was very large. However, it was on a main road so it was very noisy. The staff were only interested in anything that involved paying them money, and when it came to anything I wanted it was like pulling teeth. If they sell you anything check the price on the menu as they will try and rip you off! "

Titanic Beach Spa And Aqua Park
"Returned 18th April 2008 from the 'New Titanic Beach Spa and Aqua Park' and would not recommend at that time, as it was not yet complete. We arrived in the dark and on first impression thought 'wow', then we were taken to our apartments, which were about 400 metres from the reception and dining rooms/bar. The pools were all lit up and the place looked fantastic in the dark. Things started to go downhill from then! We arrived at our apartments eventually - Us in one and our children (2 teenagers) in another one next door. We were the only two apartments in the block completed and were the first in them. Ours was next door to a building site (told the owners villa) and the kids were in a room next door (no connecting door to ours). When we entered their room there was a connecting door leading into the apartment on the other side, which again was a building site with no windows or doors sealing them from the outside and with direct access from the beach. We immediately told the hotel this was not acceptable and wanted to change rooms - Sorry hotel fully booked. We barricaded the connecting door with the settee and beds. Anything that was dropped or put on the floor was covered in builders dust and debris.The balconies could not be used for debris and dust and patio doors had to be kept closed at all times. We were told the builders would not be disturbing us as they would not be there. 7am next morning and every morning after that we were woke up with the constant hammering, drilling, grinding etc and shouting of the builders. Again we asked to move and were told hotel full. The place was covered in flies and we even saw a rat one night in the upstairs bar - when we told the staff (after trying to describe rat and pointing it out) they just shrugged and laughed. We all went down with VERY dodgy tummies and I even stayed in bed and for once slept (even with the builders banging) for 48 hours. We were not the only people ill - practically every family we spoke to had been ill. The pools were freezing cold and the beach bar was a health hazard. As more apartments were completed, more people arrived and the towels and sunbeds became a nightmare. Russians and Germans dominated the whole place. This was our 5th trip to Egypt and although it was really rough, it will not put us off going back, although we will go to a hotel which is completed and not so off the beaten track. I would say give this hotel at least a year and it may be complete - presently they are building another six blocks and putting in more slides (only a few at moment and they don't all work) I know you may read this and say a holiday is what you make it and believe me I would be doing the same if I was reading it. Well, we did the best of what we had and did enjoy some aspects, although this was outweighed by the bad points. All I can say is thankfully this is not our only holiday of the year and we will not be put off Egypt having been there before and know what we can expect. I would not rule out returning to this hotel in the future, but as I say this would not be for at least another 12 months. When reading reviews, please be careful as there are two Titanic Aqua Park hotels and friends we had arranged to meet were in the other (we were not allowed to join them even for a day, although it is owned by the same company) ."
