Polis – located in north west Cyprus

Polis is a perfect resort for couples an families looking for a quiet holiday in a picturesque countryside setting. Holiday transfers from Paphos International airport take around one hour. This gives you plenty of time to look around the other areas of Cyprus and see the scenery that it has to offer. It also gives you time to gain an understanding of the location of your resort and your accommodation within your resort. The nearest beach to Polis is half a mile away and is set in an attractive setting. Changing rooms can be found here and it is a popular place to relax with fine sands. You will find a few hotels in Polis, but mainly aparthotels. There mainly range from 3-5 stars and have some excellent facilities for you to use. Flights to Paphos take approximately 4.5 hours.

Polis – plenty of activities to keep you occupied

Although the beach isn't in Polis itself, you can go there and take part in the water sports. You will find snorkelling, windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, jet-skiing, water-skiing, parasailing, fishing and sailing. There are also plenty of boat trips for you to catch in Latchi. If you prefer to stay on dry land, then why not try one of the many available nature trails? You can also keep active with tennis. You may also enjoy seeing history and architecture at the archaeological museum. There is also a 16th century church which is home to a lot of history and is a brilliant site to see. There are also plenty of excursions to go on. You can go and see the baths of Aphrodite, visit vineyards, museums or go up the Troodos Mountains for a sightseeing tour. A popular excursion is the Paphos history tour. This is a brilliant way to learn some new history about Paphos and experience some brilliant sites.

Polis – plenty of places to eat and drink

Polis is home to a number of restaurants that mainly offer Cypriot cuisine and seafood. These are both very popular in the area, however you will find other cuisines such as Italian and British in some areas. All of the seafood is locally caught and comes highly recommended. When it comes to nightlife, it is fairly tame although you will find a disco and a few bars to enjoy in the centre of the town. There are a few shops in the area where you will find a lot of souvenirs, leather goods and jewellery. There is also a good level of public transport in Polis. This includes an hourly bus service to Paphos, taxis available 24 hours a day and car rental.

Polis – very hot summer temperatures

Polis is a very hot resort with temperatures sometimes reaching above 40°C. You are guaranteed to need high factor sun cream when visiting this destination. July and August are the hottest months in Polis with average temperatures of 35°C. You will also have 13 hours of pure sunshine a day. Winters are very short and mild with January and February being the coldest months. Even though they are cold, they still have temperatures of at least 15°C. Rainfall only occurs 40 days out of the year but this is very short lived and the sun still tends to shine. There is not always a breeze in Polis so many people decide to keep to the shade at times. The temperature will not fall below 30°C from June to September, leaving you with warm sea temperatures, making it perfect for water sports. The night also remains warm so it is advised that you get air conditioning in your accommodation.
