Son Parc – located on the north coast of the island

Son Parc is a resort that is perfect for families who enjoy spending lazy days at the beach or by the pool. It is a very relaxing resort which is what makes it so popular with some people. The transfer time for this resort from the airport is 30-40 minutes meaning you have plenty of time to look around at the surrounding scenery as well as get an idea of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach is perfect for families and it is safe. It is covered with fine, golden sand that leads down to the waters edge. It is backed by sand dunes making it a beautiful setting to be in. There are both hotels and apartments in Son Parc. They range from 2-4-stars and have all of the facilities that you need.

Son Parc – main focus is down on the beach

Son Parc has a brilliant beach and you can hire out windsurfs or pedalloes for a day if you wish. As well as this you could try the 9-hole golf course, tennis or even the driving range. There are plenty of excursions that you can take such as cruises to picturesque coves, or visit the hill of El Toro to get some amazing views of the rest of the island. The nearby fishing village of Fornells is also popular and has plenty of seafood restaurants to choose from. Shopping and sightseeing also seem to be popular activities in Mahon and Ciudadela.

There are around a dozen restaurants in Son Parc offering a range of cuisines such as Spanish, Tapas, Italian and British. There are also a number of bars located in the commercial centre which are there for your enjoyment. There is some nightlife in the resort, however it tends to be very low key. A lot of the evening entertainment can be found in the hotel Son Parc and Wilson\'s Bar, where entertainment programs are made particularly in the summer months. In Son Parc, you will find supermarkets if you have gone for the self-catering option and even a couple of souvenir shops. Public transport is quite good with 2 daily buses to Mahon and 2 to Fornells.

Son Parc – clear, sunny skies for the majority of the year

Son Parc is generally not too cold or too hot at any time. Temperatures in the resort tend to remain at comfortable levels. During the peak summer months, it is guaranteed that you will spend the day surrounded by clear blue skies and sunshine, however in the winter months, you may see some slight rainfall and feel a stronger coastal breeze. The sun still shines although only for around 5 hours, compared to 11 hours in the summer. Summer temperatures have been known to reach 30°C, particularly in August. Water temperatures tend to also be quite warm in the summer, making it perfect for all of the water sports that go on. November sees that start of the rainfall, with temperatures decreasing to between 15 and 18°C. Although there is more rainfall in the winter, it is still not excessive.
