Calas de Majorca - Peaceful, relaxing resort

Calas de Majorca is located on the east coast of Majorca and is now a very modern, purpose-built resort. The transfer time is only around 1 and a half hours which enables you to take in your various surroundings before arriving at your accommodation. Families and couples are more likely to enjoy the resort, although, it is seen as a base, meaning people stay there and then go and look around the rest of the eastern corner of Majorca. There are a few beaches in Calas de Majorca, however they are fairly small and in high season, can get very busy.

Calas de Majorca – resort centred around the beach

Calas de Majorca is really a beach resort with many sights to see. There are many cliffs and mountains around, making the resort perfect for hiking and mountain biking. You are also able to cycle and do some kayaking. Many of the hotels offer excursions for you to other resorts so that you can take part in more activities. The beach does offer some water sports which include windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Tennis and table-tennis are available in many of the hotels and the resort has a funfair that has activities for all of the children including and arcade. There is a zoo and a bird sanctuary that are very popular with tourists, especially families.

Calas de Majorca – clean and very scenic

Calas de Majorca is a very clean resort and the beaches have been awarded with the European Blue Flag for their cleanliness. The water is shallow, so it is good for children, however there are some strong underwater currents so it is important that they are accompanied by an adult at all times. There are gift shops and souvenir shops in the resort and shops selling food and drink. There are a few bars to keep you entertained in the evening, along with a few clubs that stay open until the early hours of the morning. You will also find a few restaurants selling English food, fish, Spanish and Italian. There are also daily buses into nearby resorts such as Palma, although this is not always reliable.

Calas de Majorca – perfect for tourists

Between May and October there is little rainfall making it the perfect destination for a summer holiday. During the winter months it is slightly colder with rainfall so jackets are advised. The summer temperatures are around 30°C so sun worshippers are definitely going to love the resort. In winter, the temperature rarely drops below 10°C, however there can be a breeze, which is welcomed in the summer, however slightly chilling in the winter.
