Cala Santandria Resort Guide

Cala Santandria – located on the western side of Menorca

Cala Santandria is a resort that appeals to people looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday in the sun. The transfer time for this resort from Menorca airport is around 40-50 minutes. This gives you plenty of time to look around the resort at the scenery as well as getting an idea of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beaches are attractive with fine white sands leading down to the crystal clear waters. There are many self catering apartments in Cala Santandria, as well as plenty of hotels ranging from 3-4-stars. The resort is perfect for lazy days by the beach with the added extras of shopping and sightseeing.

Cala Santandria – many beach based activities to enjoy

Many people choose to spend their days in Cala Santandria down at the beach. As well as sunbathing, you can try some of the many water sports that are available to you. These include snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, surfing, water-skiing, jet-skiing and parasailing. Minigolf is also a popular activity that many people choose to take part in when staying in Cala Santandria. There are also plenty of excursions to go on, including boat trips to various beaches and tours around the various towns. There are also many prehistoric monuments that you can go and see. Walking and bird watching have become popular as is playing golf in Son Parc or going to the many secluded coves and beaches.

Cala Santandria – plenty to keep you occupied

Cala Blanca has some brilliant restaurants with a range of cuisines available. There are some brilliant fish restaurants available such as Italian, Spanish and a lot of seafood. There are also plenty of fast food restaurants available which prove very popular among tourists. There is a nightclub to enjoy in Cala Santandria as well as a few music bars, karaoke bars and pubs. Many of the hotels also offer evening entertainment, particularly in the summer months. The main shops for you to enjoy are in Cala Blanca, however you will find plenty of souvenir shops and a few clothes shops in Cala Santandria. There are hourly buses taking you to other resorts such as Cala\'n Bosch, Ciudadela and Cala\'n Forcat. From these resorts you can move on to others.

Cala Santandria – typically Mediterranean climate

Cala Santandria is blessed with long, warm summers, clear blue skies and hours of sunshine. Winter in Cala Santandria is still good as it remains fairly mild. Although there is rain in the winter, it is light and moderate. There are cool breezes that sweep across the resort maintaining temperatures and making it a lot cooler for you. Summer sees temperatures reaching 30°C with 11 hours of sunshine a day. Temperatures have also been known to reach 35°C, especially during August. Very little rain falls between July and September making it a very popular summer destination. During the winter, you may only see 5 hours of sunshine and temperatures will drop to 14°C. This is between December and January, however in March, temperatures start to rise again, reaching 18°C. It is very rare that it will rain for a whole day in Cala Santandria. When it does rain, it usually clears up very quickly.
