Cala'n Forcat Resort Guide

Cala'n Forcat – located at the western tip of Menorca

Cala'n Forcat is the liveliest resort on the island and is very popular with young families and couples. It is affordable, especially for people on a mid to low budget and is very enjoyable both day and night. The transfer time for this resort from Menorca airport is around 60-75 minutes. This gives you plenty of time to look around at the scenery that Menorca has to offer as well as giving you the chance to get an idea of the location of your resort and your accommodation within the resort. Cala'n Forcat offers you concrete platforms to swim from so if you want a proper beach then head to Cala'n Blanes, Calas Piques or Cala Brut. They all have fine sand leading down to the waters edge. There are mainly apartments in Cala'n Forcat, although you will also find hotels and villas. They mainly range from 2-4-star options.

Cala\'n Forcat - plenty of beach based activities to keep you occupied

Cala\'n Forcat has a range of activities for you to choose from during the day. There are plenty of water sports available to you such as windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing, jet-skiing and water-skiing. When it comes to scuba diving, there is a diving centre where you can hire all the equipment and receive full instruction if you need it. Minigolf is also a popular activity that many choose to do. There are plenty of excursions for you to try such as visiting the local horse race track, visit other resorts such as Ciudadela, take boat trips to various beaches, go bird-watching or see the historical monuments and artefacts of other resorts in Menorca. There is also a local horse track in the resort which many people find enjoyable.

Cala\'n Forcat – wide selection of restaurants

In Cala\'n Forcat you will find a number of restaurants that offer a range of cuisines such as Spanish, British, Italian and a lot of seafood. There are also plenty of snack bars available if you are not feeling that hungry. The majority of the nightlife is centred on Los Delfines with a number of lively bars, clubs, pubs, karaoke nights,discos and British bars. It is definitely the place to be for a lively evening of music and entertainment. There are shops scattered throughout the resort where you will find clothing, jewellery and souvenirs. There are also plenty of supermarkets selling British brand food if you have decided to go for the self-catering option. Public transport in the resort is fairly good with buses taking you to other resorts such as Ciudadela or Cala\'n Bosch. You can then take buses to other resorts.

Cala\'n Forcat – typically Mediterranean climate

Cala\'n Forcat is blessed with long, warm summers, clear blue skies and hours of sunshine. Winter in Cala\'n Forcat is still good as it remains fairly mild. Although there is rain in the winter, it is light and moderate. There are cool breezes that sweep across the resort maintaining temperatures and making it a lot cooler for you. Summer sees temperatures reaching 30°C with 11 hours of sunshine a day. Temperatures have also been known to reach 35°C, especially during August. Very little rain falls between July and September making it a very popular summer destination. During the winter, you may only see 5 hours of sunshine and temperatures will drop to 14°C. This is between December and January, however in March, temperatures start to rise again, reaching 18°C. It is very rare that it will rain for a whole day in Cala\'n Forcat. When it does rain, it usually clears up very quickly.
